Development

Your child will have plenty of free play at Nursery but we encourage them to explore toys, materials and media. All of the equipment is carefully chosen for its educational stimulation and safety design. We also allocate a household area, for the opportunity for Heuristic Play and we welcome any contributions from parents for our collection.

The Nursery is a place where the children can make friends, have fun, discover, create and explore. It is also a place where they can make their own decisions and develop independence.

We offer water play, sand, clay, dough and painting plus a variety of other materials depending on the age of the children. We encourage staff to allow the children to lead their own learning.

IT equipment is available, such as IPads, cameras and computers are available to aid children’s technological skills. We also allow educational television and radio, audio tapes and video.

We introduce them to mathematical concepts, develop their pre-reading and pre-writing skills and increase their communication skills. We also help to develop their scientific knowledge and technical problem solving. All children are given an equal opportunity to benefit from these activities and experiences.

The opportunity for fresh air and outdoor play where possible is always encouraged. We like to take the children on outings too. They love to walk to the park together or walk to the local shops to buy ingredience and return to do some baking. We also organise outings to local farms or the local theatre.

Welfare
We consider health and safety of each child of upmost importance and each child is allocated a ‘key person’ when they first start at the Nursery.  This ‘key person’ will ensure that your child feels individually cared for. Children’s meals are cooked on site every day by our qualified cook. We use fresh fruit and vegetables and source meat locally. We cater for all allergies and dietary requirements.
